In rather dated Church of Scotland language the purpose of the church choir is “to lead the praise and provide suitable items to enrich the worship at Christmas, Easter and other occasions as may be arranged”. Over many years our choir has endeavoured to do just that by singing an introit at the beginning of the service and an occasional offertory (anthem). In recent times with changes in church music we now share leading the praise with the Praise Band and items from time to time from the Praise Group. We are very fortunate in Brightons to have so much musical talent.

As a choir we meet for rehearsals on Thursday evenings, when we sing through the hymns for Sunday and practice any special items which are planned for the future. We have also provided musical entertainment for some other local organisations such as clubs for elderly, blind, retirement homes and neighbouring church Guilds.

Anyone who enjoys singing and would like to help will be made very welcome.
