Praying Together

Praying Together

‘Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.’
Romans 12:2

A prayer for today
Eternal Father,
We come before You today with a thankful heart because of the gift of Your Son, Jesus. He came down to Earth to show Your Kingdom and Your purpose for us and to make a way for us to be with You. We ask that You help us as we model our lives on Jesus’ life. Reveal and remind us of the multiple layers and facets of Your character, and work with us to imitate them in our own lives.
May we be transformed from the inside out into the likeness of Your Son. Renew our mind so that our thoughts, ways and plans are in line with Your will and desire. May our words and actions imitate Jesus this week, show Your love to those around us and make those around us curious of the joy and hope we have in You.
We long to be with You in heaven where we will all be suddenly changed like a twinkling of an eye and clothed with Your immortality. Help us to be transformed until that day comes.
From today, many shops and businesses will reopen, so we take this time to pray for all the shopkeepers and staff. We pray that You would cover them with your safety, security and love. May they cast onto You anxieties of catching the virus and may they know that they are loved by You.

Hear us as we bring You our deepest needs
in the words of the Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen.
